Dodger Stadium & The Police

Between the Foo Fighters and The Police. The Foo Fighters made all those people go away. It was packed...

QUICK REVIEW: I thought the sound was really good for a stadium show and the light and video presentation worked very well. The songs were good. I liked hearing them, Sting kinda tainted a few of them with extra vocal flourishes and jazz-ing up some of the songs. I know he's probably bored with them by now, but i think a straight rendition would have been better. The problem is many of The Police songs we know and love were produced to perfection. Their tone, sound, pace and mood were already perfect (Walking on the Moon, Don't Stand So Close To Me, King Of Pain) so any variation is going to feel inferior.
I understand concerts are not the same as listening to the album and they should'nt be, but butchering songs because you want to hear yourself yelp is another matter.

despite my Sting-based complaints I had fun and enjoyed it.

and he didn't curse.

That's why Stewart Copeland was always my favorite member of the Police. Sting always had a way of mucking up his own songs, for better or worse (mostly worse). Very Paul McC in a way...

Did they play Rehumanize Yourself? Or Canary In A Coalmine? The Police were the first band (even before the Beatles) that I eventually exhausted every album cuz I played them so much... glad it was a good show!
