Saturday night the winds started picking up here. Strong enough to blow palm fronds down and crud off our roof. Later that night the fire started in Malibu and it hasn't stopped.Santa Monica is fine (no canyons or overgrowth) but we can see the fires in Malibu glowing from the beach. Spooky stuff- The images on TV are amazing. Often times it looks like a sea of lava. A pretty surreal event.
